Sea views and proximity to the beach at Porth make The Alex an excellent base for your seaside holiday.Full English breakfast is served in the dining room overlooking the beach the best way to start your day. Breakfast is included in the room price and we are always happy to make changes to suit your requirements. We are pleased to offer storage for boards and bikes as well as an outside beach rinse off area. Free Wi-fi is available to guests but unfortunately we cannot accommodate pets.Guests are welcome to relax on the terrace which in the evening enjoys fantastic panoramic views of the sunset over the Atlantic Ocean and Trevelgue Point.Porth beach is less than 100metres from the The Alex and is brilliant for families swimmers and anyone who likes to feel the sand between their toes. The sandy beach with rocky outcrops is perfect for beach games building sand castles and rock pooling. There is a laid back timeless charm to Porth making it just right for a very chilled out stay with us at The Alex.The South West Coast Path runs past our entrance making The Alex great for walkers looking to explore the area on foot. Walking is the ideal way to enjoy the sea air and stunning views. It's just a short stroll to Trevelgue Point and Porth Island one of the South west's major centres of prehistoric civilization where the cliffs are riddled with caves and old mine workings and where at half tide a spectacular blow hole erupts. At low tide you can take a walk on the beach around the headlands northwards to Watergate bay or south to Newquay Harbour both have idyllic beach cafes for a well-earned refreshment break.Porth is an easily accessible destination being only a short distance from Newquay's airport and train station. The Alex offers ample free parking for all its guests a real bonus in the summer!

Hotel directions :
From the A30 follow signs to Newquay on the A392.On reaching the roundabout at Quintrell Downs take the 3rd exit onto the A3058 heading to Newquay.Continue along this road until you reach a double mini roundabout turn right at the first mini roundabout onto Porth Way B3276. Follow the road down the hill until you reach a sharp left hand bend - The Alex Guesthouse is on the right. Drive straight on to the forecourt and find a convenient space to park in front of the guesthouse. If you reach the Mermaid Pub on the left you have driven 50metres too far and will need to turn back up the hill.The Alex is also situated one mile from Newquay Railway Station and approximately 3 miles from Newquay Airport.
