THE ROYAL HOTEL 44 ALLARDICE STREET, STONEHAVEN, Scotland
Whether it's a trip for business or pleasure a warm welcome awaits you at this family run hotel. The Royal Hotel is located in the heart of the seaside town of Stonehaven 15 minutes south of Aberdeen. With eighteen ensuite rooms available it is the largest hotel in the Town as well as being conveniently located in the town centre the rear of the hotel is on the beach front and half of the rooms enjoy a sea view.Each room has a flat screen TV and tea and coffee making facilities as standard and also included in the room rate is a freshly cooked Scottish breakfast. The hotel has a well stocked bar with a cosy dining area which serves traditional pub food all day along with an ala carte alternative in the evening. The hotel is also a popular daytime venue for coffee and snacks due to its central location and is very popular with families. During 2010 major refurbishment works were undertaken and the hotel bedrooms are being re-furbished to the highest of standards. The hotel is expecting an upgrade to at least three stars from Visit Scotland. 2011 will see the opening of a beach front café bar with decked terrace a new function suite and a fully licensed 3 D Digital cinema showing all the new release films. All works are due to be completed early March 2011 during which there should be no inconvenience to guests.If you are going out and about nearby we have Dunnottar Castle Story book glen and Aberdeen's world famous Winter Gardens along with numerous running and biking routes for the fit. If you like to head into the hills we are within easy reach of the Cairngorm National Park. The choice of golf courses are endless we are also situated on the North East coastal trail which runs for 150 miles with cliffs coves beaches and bays making the location ideal when taking a walking cycling touring or golfing holiday.

By RoadFrom the south:There are two routes you can take to Stonehaven from the south. The first is the coastal route which if you wish will take you past Dunnottar Castle the War Memorial and offer views of the harbour - not to be missed if you are coming from the south! Stonehaven is well signposted on the A92 road.The A90 dual carriageway will also take you to Stonehaven which is well signposted.From the northIf you are coming to Stonehaven from the north take the A90 southbound. Stonehaven is 15 miles south of Aberdeen city. The first turn-off (signposted) will take you to the centre of Stonehaven.Public transportStonehaven is well served by train and bus. A bus service runs almost every hour to and from Aberdeen though less frequent on a Sunday. The main departure and drop-off point is Barclay Street a stone's throw from the Market Square in the centre of the town.It is on the main East Coast rail line and has its own station.By AirThe nearest airport is Aberdeen airport which is about 20 miles north.
