Rhinog and Arenig mountain ranges lie all around the town. Bala and the Berwyn mountains aren't far away and can also easily be reached from the town. Aber Cottage itself is next to the river Wnion and is superbly situated near to the Mawddach trail Torrent walk Precipice walk to name but a few of the walks. Coed-y-Brenin forest with its popular forest trails boasts to being one of the leading mountain bike centers in Europe is also very near.The guesthouse is ideally situated in the town and within easy walking distance to excellent restaurants and inns. Guests will appreciate the ambience of the traditional stone cottage that benefits from good quality furniture and fittings for your comfort with modern en-suite facilities to all rooms TV Internet access complimentary teacoffee complimentary toiletries etc. Car parking one per room is in our own private car park with secure access.Hikers climbers mountain bikers and other adventure pursuit guests are all very welcome and we have secure storage for your equipment. For those just wanting to take in the beautiful countryside Dolgellau is surrounded by spectacular landscape which will take your breath away. If you fancy a visit to the coast the beautiful sandy beaches of Fairbourne and Barmouth are only a few miles away.Aber Cottage is over 250 years old and due to the nature of the building it may not be suitable for children under 8 years or for those with limited mobility.

Hotel directions :
Aber Cottage is located on the east side of Smithfield Street immediately south of the bridge over the river in the town centre.The car park is located down a small side road on the north side of the cottage. Entry to the car park is through the blue double gates. Note there is a one-way system in Dolgellau and Smithfield Street is one way going south.If approaching from Bala Road as you cross the river bridge there is a public car park on the right and the turning for Aber Cottage is almost immediately on the left as you enter the one way system. Note that the turning cannot be seen until you reach it.The nearest railway stations are Barmouth (10miles) and Machynlleth (16 miles). Dolgellau is served by buses from both these towns.
