Nestled in the Northern foothills of the Brecon Beacons National Park you will find the award winning Tanners Arms Inn and Tannery Restaurant. We serve a wide range of beverages (Specialising in Real Ales and Single Malt Whiskeys) and offer a great choice of high quality Meals and Bar snacks at down to earth prices. With a Main Bar Restaurant (with real log fire) or Sports area with board games and darts board to choose from you are sure to feel at home in The Tanners Arms. And for those long hot Summers we even have a large South facing beer garden. We specialise in Real Ale and have just won a prestigious CAMRA Best Regional Pub of the Year Silver award for 2012.The refurbishment of our Accommodation rooms at The Tanners Arms has just been completed and we can now offer beautifully appointed and fully equipped Double En-Suite Room that retain many of the features of an early 18th Century Inn. Some rooms boast original room features including Vaulted ceilings Inglenook Fire Places Welsh Slate windowsills Exposed Welsh Stone and distorted solid stone walls that have driven our plasterer to distraction ! Breakfasts and Evening meals can be taken in The Tannery Restaurant which boasts original Oak beams an enormous Inglenook Fire place ( with a roaring log fire in the cooler months ) and a delightful Westward view of the nearby River Senni and Northern foothills of the Brecon Beacons.Our rooms are fully equipped with all the modern conveniences and include the following features ...Tea and Coffee Making Facilities (with fresh Welsh Milk of course !) From Brecon (8 Miles) Leave Brecon heading West and follow signs for the A40 Llandovery. Just before the village of Sennybridge take the A4067 signposted Swansea. Just after passing the A4215 turning for Merthyr you will see The Tanners Arms on your left.From Llandovery (10 Miles) Leave Llandovery heading East on the A40 signposted Brecon . Just after passing through the village of Sennybridge take the A4067 signposted Swansea. Shortly after passing the A4215 turning for Merthyr you will see The Tanners Arms on your left.From the M4 Westbound (24 Miles) Exit the M4 at Junction 45 and follow the A4067 North towards Ponterdawe. Continue on the A4067 past Ystradgynlais and onwards into the National Park passing through the beautiful Crai Valley. You will find the Tanners on your right as you enter Defynnog.From the M4 Eastbound (38 Miles) Exit the M4 at Junction 32 and follow signs for A470 Merthyr and then A470 Brecon. After approx 30 miles follow the signs for the A4215 Defynnog. Turn left when you reach the T junction with the A4067 and you will find The Tanners Arms immediately on your left.
