Ali and Rene the Chef Patron would like to welcome you to the Great Western Arms we're nestled between Oxford Canal and the Great Western Railway. We are open 7 days a week from 11 am till 11 pm. We are ideally situated for jaunts to the Cotswold's or an overnight stay in our well appointed rooms for race days at Silverstone or afternoon tea after a visit to Blenheim Palace. The rooms are very basic ideal for a nights stay if your on buisness or simply want to explore the country side and travel on the rooms have free view tv coffee and tea facilities shampoo and shower gel hair dryer Iron and Ironing Board and free Wifi. The Great Western Arms offers alfresco dining in the outdoor courtyard on warm afternoons and evenings it is also an idyllic setting for those with children and or dogs. Intimate meals by our roaring double-sided fireplace inside are complemented by the multitude of historical photos and memorabilia which adorn the walls. Our daily changing menu features classic pub dishes of Roast Beef and Yorkshire pudding or Steak and Ali's Ale pie complimented by more modern dishes such as Whole Grilled Tiger Prawns or Confit of Duck with Sweet Potato Mash as prime examples. Food is served from 12- 3 monday to saturday and dinner 6- 9 9.30 monday to saturday. Food is served all day on sundays.Our range of Hook Norton Ales and reasonably priced premium wines from around the globe absolutely compliment the expansive menu. The perfect evening can be capped off with our wide range of premium spirits brandies and vintage ports. In the afternoons it's easy to let time slip by with a fresh coffee or cup of tea. For the more active we have a skittle alley pool table and pétanque. We also have scores of board games for family entertainment.It is our aim at the Great Western Arms to be a fitting venue for weddings and any other event with our tranquil setting and the multitude of dining areas.The Great Western Arms has 4 basic rooms 3 double en suites and a twin.
