Mount Ceres is a Victorian former manse and set in its own grounds of beautiful gardens. The accommodation is 7 miles south of Edinburgh city centre but just 1 mile from the city by-pass and a frequent bus service runs into Edinburgh every 10 minutes.The bedrooms have been upgraded and lovingly restored to the highest standard with everything visitors could require andthe housewhich is located at the end of a quiet cul de sac guarantees a peaceful night's sleep . All rooms are en suite or have private facilities and a full Scottish breakfast or a lighter option can be taken in the conservatory overlooking the garden. Guests are encouraged to wander in the garden and to enjoy a truly wonderful gardenwhich is open for charity and photographs can be viewed on the web site - mountceres.com. Unfortunately we do not have card facilities and final payment should be made in cash .As it is a private house booking in times are limited and any one wishing to book in before 5pm should contact the proprietor beforehand to make other arrangements. Hotel directions :
Lasswade is 1 mile from the Edinburgh city by pass on the south side of the city. When coming from the north on the by pass take the slip road saying Lasswade and follow the signs to Lasswade. Continue through the village and up the hill on the B 704 to Bonnyrigg(you take a right turn half way up the hill.Take the 2nd on the right called Broomieknowe and Lower Broomieknowe is second on the left.Come down to the T junction at the bottom of the road and number 3 is first house on the left. When coming from the southyou will approach the area on either the A68 or the A7. Head for Bonnyrigg and at the traffic lights go towards Lasswade on the B704. About 500 metres( past 2 islands) turn left into Broomieknowe and follow directions as above. If you start to go down the hill you have gone too far so about turn and follow as above.
